Later Avebury

Avebury was inscribed as a World Heritage Site for the Outstanding Universal Value of its Neolithic and Bronze Age archaeology. But those in the know will tell you that one of the wonders of Avebury is that its still a living, working community and it has been for thousands of years. Avebury has Roman, Saxon and Medieval stories to tell. And then of course there’s Avebury Manor – a house that’s seen a thing or two in its time. We know you love us for our megaliths but dip your toe in the water and try a little something later too. You never know where it might lead.

The earliest parts of Avebury Manor were built in the sixteenth century but its story is a long and complex one
